The library today is much more than a study space. It is an essential resource for academic success. As our new undergraduates come to campus for Orientation Week, the University of Chicago Library is offering several open houses and programs to welcome new students and introduce them to many services and resources available to support their coursework and research.
Meet Holiday Vega, new Health and Social Services Librarian
Holiday Vega joined the University of Chicago on August 19th as the Health and Social Services Librarian and she works both at the Crerar Library and the Social Services Administration Library.
Art installation inside Mansueto Library dome transforms OI’s ancient figures
During a visit to the University of Chicago, visual artist Ann Hamilton became enamored with the Oriental Institute’s collection of stone and ceramic figures. To celebrate the OI’s 100th anniversary, she has transformed those figures into an installation inside Mansueto Library that is open to the general public on Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m.
